world-class trainings in Shanghai
Shanghai Pudong Football Stadium (the “White Jade Bowl”) is China’s first professional football stadium designed strictly to FIFA standards, with 33,765 fixed seats and serving as the home of Shanghai Port FC; its training center and supporting training facilities are particularly outstanding. The stadium features two 11-a-side natural-grass training pitches on its north and south sides, totaling about 16,000 square meters. From construction techniques and grass-species selection to maintenance standards, these pitches are consistent with the main pitch, use an anchored turf system, and are equipped with integrated training-and-competition facilities such as turf grow lights, ventilation and training data collection. The training pitches have stands at the sidelines and four dressing rooms beneath the pitch, and together with meeting rooms, a gym and recovery facilities they form a complete service chain covering pre-match preparation, training execution and post-match recovery. The venue has hosted the Chinese men’s national team’s training camp before World Cup qualifiers and is also open to the public on non-match days for youth training camps, youth development programs and amateur matches, achieving an organic link between professional competition resources and public fitness. It is one of Shanghai’s football landmarks where professional events and public sharing are most closely combined.
