About This Facility
The Beijing Olympic Sports Center is a national-level sports base that integrates competitive training, public fitness, and leisure and recreation. It is also an important training base of the General Administration of Sport of China, providing training support for national teams in football, judo, wrestling, boxing, handball, hockey, softball, tennis, and other sports. The center is conveniently located about 25–27 kilometers from Beijing Capital International Airport, roughly a 30-minute drive away. The training hall on the north side of the center consists of three training venues of equal size, with a total floor area of 15,000 square meters. It is used for training in handball, wushu, and Paralympic sports such as wheelchair basketball, wheelchair fencing, and wheelchair rugby. The comprehensive training hall has a floor area of nearly 27,000 square meters and includes 8 indoor climate-controlled tennis courts, 19 badminton courts, 8 table tennis tables, 3 basketball courts, and 1 indoor football pitch. Specialized training facilities include one athletics practice field with a synthetic track, one softball field, three football practice fields, four tennis courts, and auxiliary facilities such as a call room. The hockey and tennis venue has two international-standard artificial turf hockey pitches and one natural grass hockey pitch, and is used for training in hockey, gateball, and other sports. The football training grounds currently include two natural grass pitches and two artificial turf pitches. In terms of sports science and rehabilitation support, the rehabilitation and physiotherapy recovery area is equipped with high-tech devices such as compression cryotherapy units, mild hyperbaric oxygen chambers, portable oxygen concentrators, and digital four-pillar strength training stations. These played an important role during the Paris Olympic preparation cycle. The training center is also equipped with dual-function smart training equipment for chest press/rowing, high pull/push press, and leg extension/curl, meeting both cardiorespiratory and strength training needs.
